A Day to Celebrate

Friendship Village marked its 33rd anniversary in January but the real spotlight was on the 18 residents who are turning 100+ this year.  The ABC Chicago television camera followed each resident as they told their secret to longevity.  Faith in God was the common chord among the residents, along with eating right and the living environment at Friendship Village (no, we did not bribe anyone for that comment!)  With speeches by the community’s dignitaries and accolades from visitors, family and friends, the afternoon ended with appetizers and a festive camaraderie.
